On Thursday, January 9, 2025, Al-Jamaal Education Institute, under the leadership of its Director, Alh. Abdulwahab Yusuf Shehu, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Bello, OFR, the Emir of Gusau. The visit aimed to brief the Emir on the institute's latest educational initiatives and to seek his royal blessing and continued support.

During the meeting, Alh. Abdulwahab Yusuf Shehu expressed profound appreciation for the Emir's longstanding support and generosity towards the institute's mission. He highlighted Al-Jamaal Education Institute's commitment to providing quality education and fostering community development across Zamfara State.

A key focus of the discussion was the upcoming Trained Birth Attendants (TBA) Program in Gusau—a vital initiative designed to improve maternal and child healthcare. The program seeks to equip birth attendants with essential skills to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in the region. Alh. Abdulwahab Yusuf Shehu emphasized the critical role the Emir’s support would play in ensuring the program's successful implementation and outreach.

In addition to the TBA Program, the Director shared the institute's plans to introduce new academic programs through a strategic partnership with Kaduna State University (KASU). This collaboration aims to expand educational opportunities and enhance academic offerings in Zamfara State. Alh. Abdulwahab Yusuf Shehu also requested the Emir’s approval and blessing for a forthcoming courtesy visit by a KASU delegation scheduled for February 8, 2025.

From February 7–8, 2025, a delegation from Kaduna State University (KASU), led by Prof. Suleiman U. Suleiman, visited Al-Jamaal Education Institute, Gusau, for a Pre-Affiliation Accreditation Exercise. The delegation included Dr. Ahmed Musa, Dr. Yusuf Usman, and Mal. Mansur Usman Tsofo (Secretary, Institute of Education, KASU).

The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the institute's readiness for academic affiliation and to assess its capacity to deliver quality education. Over the two-day exercise, the KASU team conducted a comprehensive review of the institute’s staff strength, facilities, and academic documents. Their assessment included an inspection of key infrastructure such as the ICT Laboratory, Library, and classrooms. The team expressed satisfaction with the institute’s facilities and commended its commitment to providing a conducive learning environment. They further encouraged the institute to pursue degree programs to enhance educational opportunities in Zamfara State.

A significant highlight of the visit occurred on February 8, 2025, when the KASU delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Emir’s Palace. His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Bello, OFR, was ably represented by Sarkin Gabas, who extended a warm reception to the visiting team. During the discussions, the Emir’s representative conveyed the monarch’s unwavering support for Al-Jamaal’s educational initiatives and emphasized the importance of partnerships that advance academic and professional development in the region.

This accreditation visit marks a pivotal milestone for Al-Jamaal Education Institute as it progresses toward formal academic affiliation with Kaduna State University. The collaboration promises to broaden access to higher education and foster academic excellence in Zamfara State.
